Make Your Own Kawaii Cookie Cutters
Tutorial for generating Kawaii cookie cutter designs using AI.
I’m sharing my steps to generate these Kawaii cookie designs using Ideogram.ai, and how to create cookie cutters from them using Cookiecad.
Cookie designs
Here are the designs I generated using the same prompt structure which is shared in the next section.
Generate your own
Prompt: A delightful and playful illustration of a kawaii [your_object], exuding happiness. The [your_object] sports a sweet pink bow atop its head and features large, dark oval eyes and a subtle smile. The [your_object]'s cheerful demeanor is further emphasized by its animated expression. The outlines are smooth and have consistent thickness. The background is white, allowing the [your_object] to take center stage in its adorable glory., illustration
Magic prompt: There’s no need to use magic prompt, but you can set to “Auto” if you want to see a mix of results generated by the original prompt or the auto generated magic prompt.
Ideogram gives you 4 results per generation. If you’re not happy with them, you can generate again. When choosing a design, I care more about the overall shape than the details, and AI is not perfect, so it’s common to see some small flaws in the details.
Tip: You can also modify the prompt to generate other elements you want while keeping it in the same style. For example, I changed “…a sweet pink bow atop its head…” to “a baby blue headband atop its head” and got some great results for a baby shower.

Prepare images for Cookiecad
Cookiecad is an amazing tool for turning images into cookie cutters. One of the best practices is to make sure the image has a clear outline for the software to detect. Here is how I remove the unneeded elements from the image using Canva.
Sometimes, you might need to do some additional editing using the drawing tool in Canva to ensure the cutter produces a cookie that isn't easily breakable. For example, I added lines to connect the bee’s antennae and the tips of the bow.
Generate STLs
Now you’re ready to generate STLs using Cookiecad. These are the settings I find work well for my Prusa printer.
Look how cute this is!

The app quickly gained popularity, inspiring us to develop another product: Flowlylink. It’s a free, all-in-one ordering system tailored specifically for cookiers. Acting as a link in bio, shop, and order management tool, it’s designed to streamline order handling and payment tracking. With its intuitive interface and built-in order forms, Flowlylink enables cookiers to start taking custom orders and launch presales within minutes.
